How to add Keywords to your Channel
You probably put a lot of different and relevant keywords into your videos so they can be more easily found. But the thing is, your channel isn’t about the separate videos, it’s a whole product. And as such it’s very important to promote and take good care of it all and not just the videos. One of the best ways to do this is by telling YouTube more about your channel and what it is about. That way it can be more easily discovered and promoted. The best way to do this is by setting up channel keywords and here is how to do it, but first:
What are YouTube Channel Keywords? Besides including relevant and different keywords in the channel’s name and it’s descriptions, to make it easier for YouTube to show your channels in relevant searches you need to set up and specify the right meta-keywords for your channel. You can think of them as a description that the YouTube algorithm can better read and understand.
How to do it?
- Click on your profile picture on the top right - Go to creator studio - On the menu, on the left click on Channel - Select Advanced - In the accounts settings section enter the relevant keywords
Extra Tip: While you are on this screen make sure that the option “Allow my channel to appear in other channels recommendations” is checked.
And that’s it, you are done! We hope that this will help you to get more views and it will help your channel to pop more often in relevant searches.
